The concept of corporate social responsibility, or CSR, has been around for many decades now, although this term is not commonly used in the business world. Similarly, the term is also referred to as “corporate” or “business responsibility,” “corporate” or “business citizenship,” “community relations,” and “social responsibility.” The broad concept of CSR also includes other related business perceptions such as social and environmental auditing, stakeholder theory, business ethics, environmental sustainability, cause-related marketing, and corporate governance.
